You are invited!
The LWV of Bellingham/Whatcom County have joined No Hate in WA State to advocate for a NO vote on two initiatives that will be on our ballots in November: IL26-001 and IL26-638. We are hosting an educational/advocacy event on Saturday, Aug. 29th, from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. Additional information can be found at
No Hate in WA State and at the
LWV Washington website. If you cannot attend in person, please consider Zoom!
These two initiatives on our November ballots are dangerous to our kids:
- IL26-001 removes common sense counseling and social work record protections for victims of child abuse, putting them in more danger.
- IL26-638 puts girls who want to play sports at greater risk of harm by requiring genital inspections.

What kind of barriers do these initiatives create for all girls in sports?
Why is creating a trans girl sports ban bad for all girls?
Can you describe an instance in which you dealt with a student's confidence that you couldn't have shared with their family?
