Healthcare Issues Team Event

Hearing loss affects people of all ages and it is estimated that 65% of persons over 70 have some hearing loss.

On November 17th at 10:00am the Healthcare Issue Team will host Larry Wollencott from the Hearing Loss Association to discuss challenges faced by people with hearing loss. Come learn more about hearing loss and bring your questions.

Leading in Troubling Times

Leading in troubling times starts with knowing that you already have it in you to lead. We hope that all of our League members will consider opportunities in our community, including on our won LWVWA Board.

As you move through the coming months, think about the leadership opportunities in front of you. Leading might be on a local committee, or a position on your local Board. It may be participating more in state-wide affinity groups or committees and bringing the ideas you learn there back to your local League. Leading also might be serving on the LWVWA Board.

If you feel like now might be your time to stretch yourself and lead, learn more and connect with our team today!

Fall Member Meeting

Our speaker for the November 1st  member meeting was Monique Stefens who explained that life makes us want to judge, be sure, have a stance and be right!

Having such a fixed and rigid system can be a relief to us in some ways but it can also prevent us from connecting, building relationships and inevitably keeps us from understanding others with different opinions. She encourages and helps people to approach difficult conversations with curiosity in order to build connections and understanding.

if you missed it, you can listen to a recording of her workshop on our website.
