Have you wondered what is happening with a bill you supported or opposed? Did you want to contact your legislator about it? Were you intimidated by the Legislature’s website when you tried to access information? You certainly aren’t the only one. There is a wealth of information on the website, but the challenge is how to find what you need quickly and efficiently.
Beginning in August and continuing through the fall, the Legislative Information Center is offering virtual classes explaining how to use the website. The following is a description of the classes as taken from the Legislature’s website.

Understanding the legislative process. From introduction to governor action and beyond, this class will teach you about the journey a bill takes to become law.

Navigating the legislative website. An introduction to the legislative website: we will review the homepage and learn how to find bill information, your district and legislators, legislator contact information, committee information, common ways to look up bills, and how to find current state laws and codes.

Advanced legislative navigation. An advanced look at the legislative website: we will take a deeper dive away from the homepage and learn advanced ways to search for bills, detailed legislative reports, bill tracking accounts, archived videos on tvw.org, find past versions of state laws and rules, and use the legislative search function to search the text of bills, state laws, state codes, and more.
